"Little Barney"
Rod puppet
Designed and built by Todd Coyle
Materials: Sculpey, wood, Teflon tubing, nylon, foam, fabric, plastic
8" tall
Notes: This tiny rod puppet had a fully articulated neck gimble. His
mouth opened with a slot jaw controlled on the head rod. His arms were
jointed and posable, with shoulder movement (horizontal and vertical
rotation) controlled by independent rods with levers. All cables were
micro-sized and made from tiny Teflon tubing. The likeness is that of my
client, who was a supermarket-chain owner. It was commissioned for an
in-house video to be used in training employees.
