| After
scouring the planet for the perfect hat ribbon to match that
which adorned Harrison Ford's fedoras, I have finally found it.
Yes, you heard me! What is so special about the ribbon on his hat? Well, after looking over a few hundred spools of hat ribbon, you start to realize it was pretty weird. It was thin and soft. In fact, in some pictures you can actually see tiny lumps and bumps showing through it. It was dull, not shiny. It was Petersham type. It was a weird brown color that was almost black. I've got it, folks! 1½" wide. Soft, limp Petersham hat ribbon (it feels like cotton, but it is rayon). It is so soft it will make perfect hat bows. Very flat - hardly any shine to it. And the brown is so dark that it looks black in most lighting. Only when you put it next to something black can you tell that it's really brown. Because of the flatness, it looks darker than some black ribbons. Check out these color comparison photos. | |
