Fuller's Earth

The tried and true method for making things look dusty in the movies. Of course, you can't just scoop up a handful of that awful dirt on the ground and plop that on your clothes. No, you must dig it out of the earth, separate it, bag it, buy it, and THEN plop it on your clothes.

Fuller's earth is great for costumes because it is very fine and it stays on. It also has that movie "tan" look. These bottles have a spice shaker top so it's easy to dispense. I recommend shaking it out onto a table and dipping a big paint brush in it. The paint brush does a great job of evenly distributing it on your clothes, jacket, hat, shoes, boots, or anything else you want to look aged. You can also put it in a sock and then pat that on your clothes.

Don't go out in public looking like your just came from "Gladiators 'R Us" with a shiny new suit. Go out in public looking like you've just come from the arena!

Fuller's earth will wipe off of most smooth leathers, and it will wash out of clothes that can be laundered. It won't come off of your hat without professional cleaning, so don't put it there unless you want it dirty forever. 5 oz.
