Standard Dress Pattern | |
| If you are interested in making your own dress like Xena's, you can start with my standard dress pattern. It is a full-size pattern on heavy paper that will start you in the right direction. The pattern is for an average size woman, so you can start there and alter it as needed. The best way to do this is to cut and sew the pattern from heavy fabric (canvas, vinyl, etc) and test the fit and note where you have to enlarge it or reduce it. Try another test garment and check the fit. Repeat this procedure until it is to your liking. The pattern includes the large pattern sheet and 9 pages of illustrated instructions that will show you the right order in which to assemble the dress. This pattern is a "simplified" version of my custom made dresses. It omits the elaborate lining and extensive boning. | |

| If you don't want to go through the trouble of altering a pattern to fit yourself, then I will make you a custom pattern. You will need to send me a duct-tape wrapping of yourself (just like if you were having a dress custom made) and I will create a pattern for you and send you a paper copy that you can use to make your own dress. I will also send along my 9 page illustrated instructions and material list. | |
