This is Janerito Harrison from Pembroke, Ontario, Canada. She says:" I used your page for ideas for my own Xena costume. My sister married over the Halloween week-end and the reception was a costume party. I had a friend sew the dress from the Simplicity costumes #7851 out of a material called "imitation leather". She tells me it was not an easy fabric to work with but the results were terrific. I made the breast plate out of a wire frame with papier mache and let layer after layer dry before using paper towels soaked in flour and water to form the design on the plate. I made the arm bands out of the leather from a pair of black leather winter boots I never wore. I carefully cut out the seams, cut the leather and put if together using leather lace and those brass eye holes you can buy in the sewing stores. All the metal designs on the skirt and arm bands were made with fabric paint. It stays quite soft so you have to be careful with it until it dries. The boot are just a plain pair of winter boots I DO wear. Over all, people were quite impressed. The wig was not the best and I may not LOOK like Xena, but I was happy with it. Thanks to the ideas I got from your web page, I have a costume I'll be happy to enter into a contest NEXT Halloween."
